Why Calls-To-Action (CTAs) are Important on Your Music Therapy Website

What are CTAs, you ask? Calls-To-Action.

A call-to-action explains what action is needed for a particular goal. If you think of it in terms of your website or online marketing, it tells your audience what they need to do next.

I gave some real-life examples in the Facebook Live — click the video below to watch the video:

I wanted to hop on here to Facebook Live to talk to you about CTAs.

Now you’re probably thinking “What in the world are CTAs?” They’re calls to action. I want you think about how they function on your music therapy website and on any online marketing that you do.

The places where you’ve probably heard them before are: If you’re involved with something political, you may have a call to action to contact your senators, to contact your representative or an important decision maker in your community. You may have heard about calls-to-action from your state Task Force, or your Government Relations rep from AMTA.

When you think about your music therapy website, I really want to encourage you to incorporate calls to action. I’m not talking about political gains or anything like that. I’m talking about telling your visitors exactly what they need to do when they are on your website.

After you incorporate calls to action on your website, you can also add them to your social media, in your newsletter, in your Facebook or YouTube videos, your Instagram stories, on your LinkedIn profile.

Let your audience know what to do.

  • If you have a Facebook group for your families that are involved in music therapy, you can call them to action to download the best playlist for bedtime.
  • Contact us to get started with music therapy.

  • Stay connected with us on us on social media.
  • Book your spot now in our early childhood music class.

Those are all call to actions. And I would encourage you also to make sure that they are very bold and prominent.

I incorporate these in different ways and in different places. On music therapy websites, I like to have a larger font. I like to have a different colored button that really stands out on your website — something that really draws your visitor’s eye to what they need to do next.

On social media you can bring your audience’s eye to your call to action by including emojis. You can include a simple uppercase call-to-action font to bring your visitor’s eye to the right spot. I really like the idea of emojis because there are some really cool musical emojis that you can incorporate as well especially into your social media.

For newsletters, you can make the font bigger, you can underline it, you can make it a different color.

Those are all different ways to get your visitor’s eye right to that call to action so that they take action on what you want them to do next.

I want to also tell you a little bit about the music therapy website audits that I am currently running. During a music therapy audit, I will take a look at your calls to action, and see how they’re working and see how all of those elements on your website, how they’re all working together.

In the audit, I’ll give you a nice review of all of those elements and how they’re working together. I look at your branding. I look at your website content and the copy that goes into each of your pages. I talk about your calls to action. I can talk about your navigation. So these are all things I’m going to be taking a look at and giving you a very objective review of those elements and how they’re all working together, because I want you to have a really strong updated website.

The introductory period has ended for the music therapy website audits, but you can still sign up for them here. The investment is $297.00.
